OUR SELF-HELP INITIATIVES

  • GIRLS IN STEM

This initiative is aimed at addressing the gender gap in STEM by stimulating the interest and enthusiasm necessary for girls/young women to pursue career in STEM fields. We intend to achieve this through various after-school STEM programs for girls and young women at various levels of education. We are currently providing free training to thirty (30) Basic school girls in ICT

  • Skills4Livelihood

This initiative seeks to increase the interest of young women and girls in various talents, artisanship and professions to make them economically independent. We are currently providing free training to sixteen (16) at-risk girls and young women who are victims of early marriages, teenage pregnancy, school dropout, kayaye retunees, orphans and girls from poor homes in Dressmaking and Hairdressing. Our medium term objective is to mobilize support in the form of startup kits and capital for these young women and girls upon their graduation.

  • EMPOWER2LEAD

This initiative aims at bridging the gender gap in leadership with particular focus on girls and young women at all levels of education through the formation of clubs. We engage key players in the educational, traditional and District Assemblies on the need to engender change on the transitional roles of girls and women thereby promoting gender friendly leadership structures.
